This is an iconic car from the movie Mad Max (1979). Mad Max takes place in a dystopian future in Australia. In this future, oil, one of the most precious resource, has been depleted and the world is at war with each other. The movie had a budget of $300,000 and made $100 million. In today's standards, that would be closer to a 1 million dollar budget and grossing about $322 million in ticket sales. This was only from the first movie out of three total Mad Max movies. This model is the V8 Interceptor, also known as the Pursuit Special. This is the main character's car in the movie. The base of the car is a 1973 Ford Falcon XB GT Coupe. The car is also a right hand drive car since the movie was filmed and based in Australia which is what our model follows. Our model replicates the movie version model almost 100 percent accurately. We modeled it from headlight grilles and bug catcher blowers, to roof spoilers and “Maintain Right" badging. The model is about 11 inches long and 4 inches wide, a 1:17 scale.
